Nyamitanga Parish is one of the oldest and most historically significant Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Mbarara. Its history is closely tied to the spread of Christianity in western Uganda, especially in Ankole.

We thank God for our sister parish, St. Susanna Parish, for walking with us in faith and communion. Through this partnership, we continue to share in the mission of the Church through prayer, solidarity, and mutual support as one family in Christ
Nyamitanga Parish was officially established in the early 20th century as missionary work expanded. It served as a central mission station for surrounding areas, helping to spread Christianity across Ankole. The parish became known for its strong emphasis on catechism and formation of local Christians.
